Large Hacking Forum Shut Down

Yes, that’s right, a large hacking forum, known as BreachForums, has been shut down after the FBI arrested the site’s owner, Conor Fitzpatrick. While it is likely that a successor will be made, however it is good to see that something is being done to stop the spreading of data breaches.

Cybersecurity’s Biggest Mistakes of 2022

SentinelOne, a well-known antivirus software developer, recently published their take on what businesses need to do to improve cybersecurity. These include:

• Failing to update software and security patches
• Using weak and easily guessable passwords
• Neglecting to back up important data
• Falling for phishing scams
• Neglecting to train employees on cybersecurity best practices
• Relying on outdated security measures
• No Identity protection implemented
• No threat hunting and lack of regular monitoring for security breaches

While a lot of these are common sense to cybersecurity professionals, a lot of businesses fall under at least one of these categories. This is where MSPs, like us, should be helping to protect businesses. Fortunately, we don’t fall under any of these categories, staying up to date with cybersecurity advice from various professionals and cybersecurity news.
